Discipline
of students is an attitude or behavior obedience to the students who make the
students able to adjust to the procedures as well as regulatory agencies
boarding both written and unwritten , which is reflected in the form of
behavior and actions . By planting the value of discipline , the students are
expected to have educational provision which contains additional knowledge ,
skills and values and attitudes that are useful for both life in the present
and in the future .
There
are 3 things that becomes the main focus in this study are : form discipline students
at boarding school Manbaul Ulum DDI Patobong, teacher strategies in applying
discipline to the students at boarding school Manbaul Ulum DDI Patobong, and constraints
in applying discipline to the students in Islamic Boarding school Manbaul Ulum
DDI Patobong.
In
this study the authors used a qualitative approach to conduct data collection
and researchers using the method of observation , interviews , and documentation
studies . The technique of data analysis in this study is a descriptive
analysis techniques to develop categories that are relevant to what the focus
of research and based on appropriate theories .
The
results of this study are as follows : First , the form of discipline student
at boarding school Manbaul Ulum DDI Patobong include learning discipline ,
discipline of worship , time discipline , and the discipline to behave . Second
, the strategies used by teachers to enforce discipline on the students at the
school is habituation , giving advice, giving warning , giving the threat , and
punishment . Third , the constraints faced by the teachers to discipline the
students at the school are exemplary of the lack of teachers , lack of teachers
who live in the dorms with the students , the lack of support from some parents
, and boarding facilities are still lacking.
